Rejection #13: 22 December 2008

Dear Ms. Pleete,
Thank you for your query regarding THE MAD VORTEX. I love the website, but I don't have the impression that your site is popular enough to expect it to drive book sales in the same way that say, PostSecret.blogspot.com or StuffWhitePeopleLike.com managed to fuel sales. And it's too high-concept to appeal to a particular category buyer (like foodies, armchair travelers, or gardeners, just as examples). I'm sorry I'm not seeing this one, but I hope another agent will have the vision to help you make this a success.
Sincerely,
Agent Awesome

Rejection #12: 18 December 2008

Dear Author,
We apologize for the necessity of having to send a form letter to you. The number of submissions received by the agency is very large, so it is not possible to write a personal response to each query letter we receive. Rather than hold you back in your search for the best representation for your book, we think it is better to let you know quickly that we’re not the right agency for your work. We wish you luck in finding a good home for your book.
Sincerely,
Agent Y

Rejection #11: 17 December 2008

Dear Celia,
Thank you for querying Dude & Dude Literary Associates about your book project.
We have carefully evaluated your materials and regrettably, your project is not a right fit for our agency. We currently have a very full clientele and must be highly selective about the new projects we pursue.
Thank you again for thinking of us. Please know that we wish you much success in all of your writing and publishing endeavors.
Sincerely yours,
Dude & Dude Literary Associates

Rejection #9: 15 December 2008

Dear Author:
Thanks so much for letting us take a look at your material and please forgive us for responding with a form letter. The volume of submissions we receive, however, makes it impossible to correspond with everyone personally.
Unfortunately, the project you describe does not suit our list at this time. We wish you the best of luck in finding an agent and publisher for your work and we thank you, once again, for letting us consider your material.
Sincerely,
Agent M.

Thank you for your recent e-mail. I regret to say that I don’t feel that I’m the most appropriate agent for your work.
However, opinions vary considerably in this business, and I wish you the best of luck in your search for representation.

Best wishes,
